How to Evaluate an Anti-Riot Shield Supplier in China

Evaluate the supplier behind the quotation: who controls the shield body and hardware, how the approved sample is identified, and how bulk units are checked before release.

Start with the operating role, not a catalog photograph

Long transparent shields, round shields, French-style shields and metal shields are carried differently and solve different public-order tasks. Put the intended role in the RFQ first, then set the finished dimensions, shape, complete weight and visibility requirement. A supplier cannot give a comparable quotation when the only request is “police shield, transparent”.

Ask for front and rear drawings. The rear side should identify the handle orientation, forearm strap, pad, fasteners and clearance for gloves. These are the details an operator feels first and a catalog picture usually hides.

Confirm the supplier’s role before reviewing the product

Ask which operations are controlled by the quoted company: shield-body forming or cutting, edge finishing, printing, handle assembly, final inspection and export packing. A supplier may use qualified outside processes, but the quotation should name the responsible company, the outsourced critical steps and the person who releases the finished lot. The objective is traceability, not a broad factory claim.

Request a legal company name, business address, quotation reference and one contact responsible for technical deviations. Factory photographs can support the review, but they do not replace a model-specific drawing, sample record or inspection result. Evaluate company capability and the offered shield as two connected checks.

Compare material and construction as a complete assembly

Polycarbonate, other transparent plastics, aluminum and steel have different weight, visibility, impact and handling trade-offs. Do not accept a material name as the whole specification. Record the approved material, thickness, edge treatment, curve, finish, logo application, handles and strap components together. Build a traceability file for the complete shield

Write the sample approval so it survives a real journey

For a transparent shield, inspect surface clarity, scratches, edge finish, printed marks, hardware and the feel of the rear layout. Record the result on an approval sheet with photographs. If the shipment crosses a hot, cold or humid route, say how samples will be protected and what will trigger a repeat review.
