7. Control open and closed dimensions, weight and holster compatibility
Lock type does not replace dimensional control. State nominal size, measured open and closed length, measurement points, tolerance, handle diameter, finished weight and end-cap profile for each model. If more than one size is offered, record each one separately.
The holster must be approved with the exact baton. Check closed length, handle and end-cap diameter, insertion depth, retention, belt width, attachment orientation and any supplier compatibility limits. A holder approved for one 21-inch product may not fit another 21-inch model if the handle, release cap or closed length differs.
